South Croydon Football Club will reach new heights with Labor candidate for Deakin Tony Clark announcing today that a Shorten Labor government will replace and upgrade the lighting at the ground, move the coaches’ box and improve landscaping.
This commitment recognises the important role South Croydon Football Club plays in the community and ensures they have the facilities they will need to continue to grow.
South Croydon Football Club plays in Division 1 of the Eastern Football League and is a vital provider of opportunities to participate in sport in the local community.
Funding will enable the South Croydon Football Club to train in the evenings and allow more regular use of the facilities. Moving the coaches’ box and improving the landscaping will also improve the quality of the facilities and the local area.
“Local sport is really important to the community,” said Tony Clark. “Giving local clubs the support they need to train and compete in facilities that aren’t substandard is just so important for health and community spirit.”
“With this funding not only will South Croydon Football Club be able to do more to play sport, it will improve the local area for all local residents.”
