A Shorten Labor Government will build a brand-new multipurpose pavilion at Silcock Reserve.

Labor candidate for Deakin, Tony Clark, and candidate for Casey, Hovig Melkonian today announced that the new pavilion will include four new change rooms, areas overlooking the sports grounds and separate kitchens and amenities to meet the needs of local community and sporting clubs.

Mr Clark said the development would also provide a boost to female sport, with improved and additional female change room facilities and amenities.

“With $830,000 from a Shorten Labor Government, this long overdue upgrade will ensure local women have the same facilities as their male counterparts,” he said.

“It will also help improve the access and activity of local groups like the Croydon Cricket Club, Croydon Ranges Soccer Club and the dog club.

Mr Melkonian said “It’s an investment in our entire community, and will ensure local groups have the facilities they need now and into the future.”

The project will be carried out in collaboration with Maroondah City Council.
