A NEW SPORTS PAVILION AT PROCLAMATION PARK UNDER LABOR

Proclamation Park will gain a new baseball and cricket pavilion under a Shorten Labor Government, Labor’s candidate for Deakin, Tony Clark, announced today.

Mr Clark said the new pavilion would resolve current safety and accessibility issues and better meet the needs of local baseball and cricket clubs, and the community.

With a $750,000 contribution from a Shorten Labor Government, the new pavilion will have increased capacity and include new facilities for female players, encouraging further local participation of women in baseball and cricket.

Mr Clark said the upgrades at Proclamation Park will make it a first class location for track-and-field sports, cricket and baseball.

“Sport is so important in our community,” said Mr Clark. “Providing good facilities to players is key to encouraging further participation at all levels.

“This project will create a new home for baseball in the eastern suburbs. Importantly it will also ensure local sportswomen have the facilities they need.”

The funding will be used in partnership with Maroondah City Council.
